Even if you aren’t standing for one of the committee positions, come along and vote for your preferred candidates. Only Full Members can vote, and voting is in person at the AGM only by single transferable secret ballot

All Committee positions are deemed vacant, as the term of office is at most 1 year.

PROCEDURE FOR STANDING:
All candidates must complete the nomination form available here, and submit a statement demonstrating their suitability and their aims once in the position.
All nominations must be seconded by a Full OCCB member.

GENERAL CRITERIA FOR STANDING FOR THE COMMITTEE
Candidates should ideally meet the following criteria:
– can firmly commit to 3 nights a month plus 2 hours a week (depends on event line up)
– are familiar with China (i.e. have lived in China for at least 6 months recently);
– will be here in 2014 and 2015 (at least the duration of committee office: 1 year);
– are based in Beijing;
– are organized, responsible and outgoing; and
– preferably have at least 3 years work experience
Finally, a fundamental aspect of being an OCCB officer is that they will commit to running at least one event during the term of their office. You will have the full support of the committee, but the event planning, management and execution are up to you.
The OCCB holds three main events per year, including the Charity Christmas Ball, Summer Garden Party and Spring Festival Dinner. The first two are headed by at least one of the President or Vice President. However, we also hold many other events，at least one per month, which have included ski trips, boating and exclusive speaker evenings from visiting academics and captains of industry.
